Cantharidin is a substance derived from the blister beetle. It causes a blister that lifts the Molluscum lesion off the skin.
Molluscum is a very common viral skin infection that affects children. It spreads through direct skin contact with a lesion and commonly occurs in areas with eczema. Molluscum can clear up spontaneously, but most people prefer treatment.
